Baygold Kicks Off 2026 With Community at the Heart
Baygold started the year with its annual Team Kick Off Day
At Baygold, we believe true innovation starts with purpose. Our work is about more than growing kiwifruit, it’s about growing a better future. Every decision we make, from orchard development to community partnerships, is guided by our core values: Care, Inspire, Perform, and Grow.
In 2025, Baygold achieved record results, surpassing five million trays harvested across our orchards, a milestone made possible through innovation, teamwork, and a deep respect for the land.
Our new MacDougall Orchards Joint Venture represents the next generation of sustainable orchard design. Located between Old Coach Road and State Highway 2, this 130-hectare development combines cutting-edge horticultural practices with environmental restoration.
From day one, we’ve designed with balance in mind, creating 94 hectares of productive kiwifruit canopy alongside native planting, wetland restoration, and biodiversity enhancement. Fast-draining soils, advanced irrigation and frost protection systems, and carefully planned land contouring allow us to produce high-quality fruit while caring for the environment that sustains it.
This approach demonstrates that innovation and sustainability can thrive side by side.
Our commitment to ecological innovation is also reflected in our constructed wetlands at The Station. Developed in partnership with NIWA and the Bay of Plenty Regional Council, these wetlands naturally filter surface and groundwater before it leaves the property.
The results speak for themselves:
Each wetland is planted with diverse native species, restoring habitat and increasing biodiversity. They’re living examples of how modern horticulture can work in harmony with nature, setting new benchmarks for environmental performance in the kiwifruit industry.
Innovation and sustainability are woven into Baygold’s DNA. Whether it’s restoring wetlands, developing climate-resilient orchards, or empowering our communities, we’re building a future where horticulture supports both people and the planet.
At Baygold, we’re proud to be growing greatness in our fruit, our people, and our world.
