Baygold Kicks Off 2026 With Community at the Heart

Baygold started the year with its annual Team Kick Off Day

Baygold started the year with its annual Team Kick Off Day — a well-loved tradition that brings the team together to reconnect and set a positive tone for the months ahead. The event has become a highlight on the Baygold calendar: part catch-up, part reflection, part inspiration, and altogether good old-fashioned fun.

This year’s event had extra spark thanks to the involvement of several local community organisations: Maketu Coastguard, Youth Encounter, The Hub Te Puke, Menz Shed Te Puke, Hunt for Good, YWAM Ships Aotearoa, and the Te Puke Fire Brigade. Each one gave the team a closer look at the initiatives happening across the district and the people who power them.

As teams moved through the day’s activities, they connected with representatives from each group — hearing first-hand about guiding young people, building practical solutions for families, responding in emergencies, and reaching those who need a hand. The Maketu Coastguard team thrilled us with Their commitment and determination left a strong impression.

For many on the Baygold team, meeting these community champions in person added a new layer of meaning to partnerships they hear about throughout the year. It was a reminder of how much strength a region gains from everyday people quietly giving their time and skills.

Baygold’s Kick Off Day is more than a team event. It’s a reflection of the values that guide the organisation — Care, Grow, Inspire, and Perform — and of the importance of staying grounded in the people and place that make this region thrive. This year’s gathering captured that spirit clearly, and the team heads into 2026 with a renewed sense of direction and energy for the year ahead.
